3…2…1…FUN!

The annual rocket launch is second only to the Pinewood Derby in terms of popularity and engagement. This means one thing to the Scouts of Pack 624: FUN!

Before the rocket launch event, a Spring pack meeting, usually in May, is dedicated to learning about and building model rockets. Different Dens build different rockets of various levels of complexity appropriate to their grade-level.

The rocket launch event along happens in June which culminates the school year and the formal Scouting calendar year for Pack 624.

The event usually has multiple launch pads running concurrently, overseen by an adult volunteer. Scouts work with leaders to insert wadding, engines, and safely launch their rockets.

This is a high energy event with Scouts sprinting after rockets that drift back to the ground.
